D46- ENGINE ROOM RESOURCE MANAGEMENT

SSM UNITED - SHIP MANAGEMENT - MARITIME TRAINING CENTRE

This course has been designed to meet the requirements of STCW sections A-III/1, A-III/3 as well as of the Article 75 of the Rules on Ranks on Certification of Seafarers (National Gazzette 124 / 15).

The main principles of engine room resource management refer to non-technical skills related to social interaction between team members in the engine room, situational awareness and decision making. the goal of the course is to achieve true simulated work environment so that the attendees could realize that only with teamwork in the engine room they can achieve safe navigation. This course is designed for seafarers which will be assigned specific duties and responsibilities:

  • Officers in charge of the engine room watch with an engine of an engineering watch on a ship powered by the main propulsion machinery of 750 kW propulsion power or more
  • Second engine officers on a ship powered by the main propulsion machinery of 3000 kW propulsion power or more
  • Chief engineers on a ship powered by the main propulsion machinery of 3000 kW propulsion power or more

This course is not required to attend the persons who have attended the program Engine room resource management during high school or university education. 

This course has been approved by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Croatia. Upon successful completion of the course the attendee will receive the certificate issued by the Croatian Ministry.
